Total global royalty collections reached a record <\/span><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">\u20ac13.97 billion<\/strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"> in 2024, highlighting the growing role of collective management in supporting the global creative economy and ensuring that creators receive fair compensation for the use of their works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to the report, this sustained growth has been driven by several factors, including the rapid expansion of digital streaming services, the development of collective licensing systems, stronger international cooperation among collective management organizations, and continued investment in digital rights management technologies that have improved the efficiency of royalty collection and distribution.<\/p>\n<p>The report also notes that <strong>digital collections exceeded \u20ac5 billion for the first time<\/strong>, accounting for more than one-third of total global royalty revenues, reflecting the accelerating shift toward the digital economy. CISAC emphasized that these results demonstrate the ability of collective management organizations to adapt to technological change while transforming the growing use of creative content into sustainable income for authors, composers, and publishers.
