Importance of Cultural Funds:

As a result of the long-term benefits that cultural funding has for the economy and society, ERRA considers cultural funds to be significant. It is the role of ERRA to serve the interests of the authors/writers, by supporting the creation of cultural funds for their use. It has a beneficial effect on revitalizing the interests of the stakeholders in ERRA.

Why is it important?

ERRA distributes 25% of its revenues every year to a separate account for cultural and social purposes that ERRA believes are conducive to the interests and values of the rightsholders it represents, as well as within the constraints of ERRA’s articles of association and bylaws.

A variety of activities including art and music festivals, community choirs, dance performances, literary readings, instrumental and vocal music concerts, theatre productions, visual art classes and exhibitions are eligible.

Is there a way for an author to tell if a library user was copying his/her work without permission? Responsibilities for managing reprographic rights are complex. The rights are, therefore, coordinated through organisations such as ERRA. In addition to monitoring and enforcing rights, the organization also collects and distributes royalties to rightsholders. A key function of ERRA will be monitoring the use of print and digital works in educational institutions, libraries, and print centres in collaboration with relevant government entities including ministries of economy and education.
